Currency notes are the physical notes. In India we typically use notes of Rs. 10,20,50,100,500 and 1000 denomination. Similarly, each currency has its own denomination set.

Maximum limit for foreign currency per traveler for a leisure trip is USD 10,000 in a year as per Indian regulations but only $3000 can be carried as currency notes as per Indian regulations and the balance has to be carried in the convenient form of Prepaid Forex cards or Foreign Currency Travelers Cheques. 3. Plan delivery: During this call, American Express will help determine the best way for you to obtain a refund. What is the validity of the Prepaid Forex Cards?

The Magic Holidays Borderless Prepaid Card is reloadable and valid for a period of 5 years from the date of issue printed on the card. Within this period you can use this Prepaid Forex Card as many times as you like. On your next trip overseas, you can recharge your Card at a Magic Holidays branch. Simply fill in the reload coupons given to you along with the necessary documents; your Card will be credited with the new amount within hours. This is subject to RBI regulations. Once I get the Prepaid Forex card, can I use the card in India?

Since this is a Foreign Currency card, usage is limited only to foreign countries excluding India, Nepal and Bhutan as per RBI guidelines.

Can I retain the card and reload it for my next trip?

Magic Holidays allows you the convenience of retaining your card and reloading it before your next trip abroad so that you can use the same card the next time you travel.

If I have money left on my card, how can I encash it once I come back?

The Card can be encashed only after your return to India. Furthermore, the last transaction done on the card should be more than 10 days prior to the date of encashment.

How can I send money abroad?

My foreign holiday is 45 days away. Can I buy Foreign Exchange now from Magic Holidays?

At Magic Holidays, you can get Foreign Exchange upto 60 days in advance of your personal/business trip. In case, you do not travel during that period, the foreign exchange should be surrendered to Magic Holidays.

Can I pay for my Foreign Currency in Indian Rupee in cash?

Foreign exchange for your personal/business foreign trip can be purchased from Magic Holidays against rupee payment in cash only up to Rs. 50,000/-. However, if the Rupee equivalent exceeds Rs. 50,000/-, the entire payment should be made by way of a crossed cheque/ banker’s cheque/ pay order/ demand draft/ debit card / credit card / prepaid card only. Please note that providing a PAN Card is mandatory for payments above INR 25,000.

How much foreign exchange is available for a business trip through Magic Holidays?

For business trips abroad to countries, (other than to Nepal and Bhutan), you can avail of foreign exchange up to USD 25,000 per visit. Release of foreign exchange exceeding USD 25,000 for business travel abroad (other than to Nepal and Bhutan), irrespective of the period of stay, requires prior permission from the Reserve Bank.

What types of trips are treated as business trips?

Visits in connection with business, deputation by company, attending of an international conference, seminar, specialized training, study tour, apprentice training, etc., are treated as business visits.

How much Foreign Exchange is available to me for my emigration to a foreign country?

Through Magic Holidays, you can get foreign exchange up to the amount prescribed by the country of emigration or USD 100,000. You can draw foreign exchange up to USD 100,000 on self- declaration basis from any Magic Holidays branch in India This amount is only to meet the incidental expenses in the country of emigration. No amount of foreign exchange can be remitted outside India to become eligible or for earning points or credits for immigration. All such remittances require prior permission of the Reserve Bank. If your requirement exceeds USD 100,000, you can get the same provided you get a prior approval from the Reserve Bank of India.

For my personal needs, can I carry foreign currency when I am migrating abroad?

Yes. You can carry upto USD 10,000 as per RBI regulations. You can choose from Prepaid Forex Cards in 8 different currencies, Travellers Cheques in 6 different currencies or Currency Notes in 30 different currencies for your requirements. Please note that Foreign Currency Notes can be carried only upto a maximum of USD 3,000. The balance needs to be carried in a Prepaid Forex Card or in Foreign Currency Travellers Cheques.

What’s the Card Verification Number (CVV) on my credit card?

The CVV is an important security feature that further reduces the risk of Internet fraud. This number never appears on sales receipts or billing statements and is only found on the physical card itself. We ask you to enter the CVV code during your transaction to make sure that the card is in your possession.

Where is the Card Verification Number (CVV) located on my credit card?

For Visa/MasterCard: Your CVV is the three digit code after the last four digits of your credit card number on the back of the card within the signature field. For American Express: Your CVV is the four digit number on the front right hand side of the card above the card number.

Under what name will my transaction appear on my credit card statement?

Your purchase will be charged under Magic Holidays (I) Pvt. Ltd.

What is verified by Visa?

Verified by Visa is a product offered by Visa in conjunction with the bank that’s issued your card. VBV uses personal passwords or identity information to help protect Visa card numbers against unauthorized use. VBV is available for most Visa cards from participating financial institutions

How does VBV help me?

VBV provides an extra level of protection for online shopping and helps to prevent unauthorized online use before it can happens.

How do I know whether or not my bank has a VBV facility?

You can ask the help desk or Call Centre of the card issuing bank and confirm whether or not your card offers the VBV facility.

How does VBV work?

What is MasterCard Secure Code?

MasterCard Secure Code is a unique service that uses a private code to help protect your card against unauthorized use when you shop at participating online merchants.

Is the credit card data provided secured?

We do not store any credit card numbers at our end; your details are directly recorded with the respective banks.

What is ‘Net Banking’ option all about?

‘Net Banking’ is a mode of payment that allows you to pay for the services offered at Magic Holidays by direct debit from your bank account.

Can I use this option?

If you have a bank account with which you can make online transactions, then yes, you can definitely use the ‘Net Banking’ option.

If I pay by net banking, how long will it take for my account to be debited?

After a successful transaction, your account will get debited immediately.

I don’t have my net banking password. What should I do?

Just contact your bank’s helpdesk and they will help you with your net banking password.

While I was paying by net banking, my ‘session expired’. What should I do now?

This generally happens when you take too long then the expected time to make payment. You need to go back to Magic Holidays page and make a fresh booking.

I made a successful payment by net banking but the system says that the ‘verification has failed’. Now what?

This happens when your payment transaction does not get verified at your Bank debit gateway. If amount has got deducted from your account, do not panic, your amount would be reversed to your account within 7 working days.

I have paid at Magic Holidays using net Banking facility, why does the Debit in my bank statement says Bill Desk?

We have partnered with Bill Desk and have allowed them to collect your payment on our behalf. You don’t need to worry its Safe.

I cancelled a booking which was made using ‘Net Banking’ option. How will I get my money back and when?

The account that you used for payment will get credited with the refund amount within 15 working days

What is Cash on Delivery (COD)?

Cash on Delivery is an alternate payment mode to our existing payment options of Credit Card, Debit Card and Net Banking.

How does COD work?

Once you select your product, on payment page you need to select the payment option of “Cash on Delivery”. Upon selecting this option we will hold your booking on the backend and once you handover the payment to our branch we will confirm your booking and email it to you within 24 hours. (Above is applicable if customer is making payment in Cash)

For how long are you going to keep my booking on Hold?

We will be holding your booking for 48hrs, if you fail to make the payment, system will release your booking.

On which products is Cash on Delivery available?

Currently the option is available for flights, insurance and holiday bookings. However, we would be introducing this option for other products very soon. However, please note that this option is available on select products which allow us to hold the booking for a 24/ 48 hour period.

How will I get the Refund?

If you have made payment through cheque or cash, we will issue the cheque of refund amount if any, on the same name from whom we got it while confirming payment.
